The reasons I don't like it are...
- BIG GOVERNMENT. Government is slow, ineffective, and can go on forever as long as it has money (tax dollars), military, and some degree of control over its people. It doesn't have to compete with private enterprise, it doesn't have to behave like private enterprise, and long after ineffective private enterprise has faded away, ineffective government is still there.
- BIG GOVERNMENT GETTING BIGGER. Fact is, our government was already big. This bill makes it bigger. The bigger government becomes, the more wasteful, the more controlling, the more crazy bloggers start angry blogs.
- BIG GOVERNMENT GETTING INVOLVED WITH COMMUNISM. Communism is evil. Evil is bad. Bad is trouble. Trouble is no fun.No fun sucks. And it sucks to be in a country getting more and more involved in communism and socialism. See, the reason communism and socialism is evil is because they aren't worried about making things, they're worried about getting things that are already made to be distributed. And fact is, things have to be made before they can be distributed. When you stop making stuff, you start losing stuff. You start slowly going down hill until you start going downhill quickly. And when it gets to that point, well, I think I'll go start my own country. Or move to the moon. Either one is a better idea than communism.
- WE HAVE TOLD WASHINGTON OVER AND OVER THAT WE HATE THIS BILL, BUT ARE THEY LISTENING? When government no longer listens to its people, when the people no longer have a say in how things are run, then that is evil. It is a sign of dictators, of kings, of people who are driving their country into the ground and they don't seem to care enough to do anything but make it worse. So when Obama and Polosky say we're going to love this, THEY ARE DEAD WRONG!!!
- ECONOMIC PRINCIPLES ARE BEING TOTALLY DISREGARDED. When people don't have money to spend on healthcare insurance, such as collage students, and they don't really need it, they're going to be forced to buy it anyways. That means taking money away from their budget for clothes, food, and books, and putting it into something outrageously expensive that they can't afford. (College students aren't known for being rich, after all.) And when insurance companies can't deny coverage for a preexisting condition, then the insurance premiums are going to have to go up, due to the increased risk.
- WHO KNOWS WHAT YOU NEED BETTER: CONGRESS--OR YOU? The thing that really irks me is the incredible arrogance behind it. This is congress saying, "We know what you need better than you know yourself." This is Obama saying, "I know what you want better than you do." This is Polosky saying, "When it's your life, your opinion really doesn't matter." This is me saying, "Are you really dumb enough to believe this? Are you really letting them shove this down your throat?" Think of you, your kids, your grandkids, and your great-grandkids. They'll be stuck with this even more than you are. You should say what you think. You should tell congressmen and senators what you think. You should say you're not going to vote for them if they voted for the bill. You should say that you will never agree to this. You should protect what rights are still left to you with your life. YOU SHOULD NEVER LET ANYONE DECIDE WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU AS LONG AS YOU ARE STILL CAPABLE OF MAKING DECISIONS FOR YOURSELF!
Those are just a few of the reasons I despise the bill, which is now a law, I suppose. I only hope the law is repealed before it does too much damage. I can only hope 2012 comes before Obama totally ruins this country.
Which reminds me. Maybe the Mayans were right. Maybe they could see the future and tell that Obama was going to annihilate the greatest country on earth.
